Big Fish Foundation Row

Join us in raising funds and awareness to help Veterans find strength, purpose, and belonging.

Many Veterans experience a loss of identity once they leave behind the uniform. They manage feelings of disconnectedness, struggle to adapt, and can have trouble making meaning of their past experiences in the present moment.

On the surface, Veterans can appear to be stable, high-functioning, and successful; it’s not until a crisis or tragedy occurs that friends and family recognize how deep their silent struggle is.

Among Veterans ages 18-44, suicide is the second leading cause of death. Too often after losing a fellow Veteran to suicide we hear “I never saw that coming.”

Big Fish Foundation gets ahead of Veteran suicide—encouraging “preventative maintenance”—by putting tools for thriving in Veterans’ hands before they experience crises that might lead to self-harm. Big Fish Foundation hosts and supports small scale events that impact Veterans through a proven combination of opportunities to forge meaningful connections with others, challenging activities that encourage psychological & physical growth, and acts of service.

At CrossFit Cadre, we are avid supporters of Big Fish Foundation and what they stand for. Annually, we gather to focus on raising awareness and MOST importantly, funds through a collective effort. This year we are hosting a 12-hour row with 4 athletes per team. Participants will spend 12 hours accumulating as many meters as possible all while participating in unique challenges. Please join us as a team, a support person, and moreover, a generous contributor.
